This Kaleidoscope Quilt class was last Saturday.  Each student brought in 2 yards of fabric with a large repeat. It was so fantastic!  I had to share each student's quilt with you!

dessert extravaganza

Each year the Community Christian School in Lincoln has a Dessert Extravaganza to raise money for their school.  And it is huge!  If you love dessert this is an experience that you cannot miss.  Tickets are $20. each and you will be able to sample each and every dessert that you would like.  Including cookies, cakes, candies, and pies.

They also have a great Silent Auction and a Live Auction.  Both are really exciting.  Especially when you have the chance to win the sweet quilt that I made. Cindy Lloyd of Quilts Bee Done, did the quilting. It's called Skipping Squares and the fabric is Farm Fresh.  I thought it would be the perfect for any child who loves life on the farm, would  really love this quilt.

This years Extravaganza is being held Saturday, March 24 at the Lincoln Community Center at 6:30 pm. You can still get your tickets at the door.

doll dress sewing class

This Saturday, March 10, Sew Katie Jean is having a class to teach you how to sew dresses for your 18" doll (American Girl).

Cynthia Horst is teaching that day.  And you will learn to sew 2 different dresses from the Rectangle Dress for Dolls Pattern.

This would just be the funnest class to take with you own girl who is just beginning to sew.  Make a memory together or just surprise her on her birthday or at Christmastime!  She would love it.

The doll featured in these pictures is one that I just bought at Target for display at my shop.  They also had these sewing accessories for $23.  I just had to buy it with the sewing machine, wrist pincushion, and sewing box.  Plus just look at the little hearts on her shoes!  I bet you would like it just for yourself....

Saturday, March 10
1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
$25.00
teacher: Cynthia Horst

modern star

When I blogged about the Sew Night in my shop, I used a photo that I found on pinterest.  And some of you asked about it.  I wanted to tell you that I found the blog, Six White Horses, that shares a template to make this block, called Lone Starburst.

I love how she made it all scrappy, you know that is always a favorite way for me to use up those bits of my fabrics.

This was the first scrappy quilt I made, the Scrappy Log Cabin.  Seeing it again makes me want to make another one right now!

itty bitty

Today I am sewing up the littlest squares of fabrics. I mean tiny 2 1/2" squares.  They were left over from a much bigger quilt project.

Isn't this the prettiest of colors.  I love how the mustard is the neutral color in this collection.  It is called So Sophie from Riley Blake. (fyi: I have one layer cake left in my shop).

This is the pattern I am using.  Itty Bitty Pinwheels.  The finished size is a 10" square.  Mine of course will look a little different because I didn't sort mine out between light and dark.  Just beautiful little squares.  I'm thinking it will come out like a tiny mug rug.  I'll keep you posted!
