a walk

I opened up a beautiful box this morning from Moda and look what I got!

A stack of 5" charms

and a stack of fat quarters.

I am in love all over again!

swoon

My new teacher, Cynthia, was in my shop this week.  We had a fun time together talking about scheduling classes and picking out fabrics.

We needed to pick out 18 fat quarters. Don't you wish you were here?  Picking out fabrics for a quilting project is the most fun.  I especially love mixing lines.  A little Moda mixed in with Benartex and P&B Textiles. It all woks together!

And this is what Cynthia will be making!  Swoon - don't you just love it :)  Two fat quarters for each block.  Makes 18 fat quarters.  Start collecting now.

pincushion club

Visit Riley Blake to see some of the sweetest pincushions! In the spring you will even see one of my own creations.  I am already so happy to see some of the designs showing up on their site.  Would you like to challenge yourself to make each one?  I have a favorite one already.  And I'm sure there will be more favorites on their way!

zig zag

There is a fun new pattern in my shop.  Zigzagged by Empty Bobbin Sewing.  Perfect for the new chevron craze.

Isn't it fantastic in these colors!  It's lovely for non directional fabrics.

See more of Shea's patterns at her blog.  I love her fresh contemporary style.

traditions

Has it really been that long?  Sorry.  You must have been wondering where I've been.  No where really.  Just the holidays, family, relaxing, and forgetting what day of the week it is.

How have you been?  All done with your Christmas sewing, I hope. And ready to sew up something for yourself.  I certainly am!

I am having a great time cutting up these beautiful fabrics from Lakehouse Fabrics.  This is Holly Holderman's latest, Pam Kitty Morning.  It is the softest and has such a sweet, fresh cottage look.

Now it has become my first Block of the Month!  The class will be held on the last Saturday of every month. Beginning Saturday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m.  You will be making just one block, once a month.  Just purchase the pre cut fabric and pattern and the class cost is $10.

Come by my shop or call to sign up {916} 209-3930.
