I have a problem, and I'm sure I'm not alone!

I will start a quilt like this one. And I always promise myself that I won't touch anything else until it's done.
Then I visit a quilt shop one day with a friend (say Hi! to Sue).
And pick up a cute stack of fat quarters.

You do this too?!?  Well, I knew I wasn't the only one!

I was born in England.  So I had to grab this stack when I saw it! I especially love the map fabric,

In order for me to do it quickly and get the most satisfaction of seeing all of these cute fabrics, I reached for a Villa Rosa Designs pattern, Livin' Easy, that saved the day.

That way I could do this quilt quickly and then get back to my
Farm Girl Vintage quilt.

I have a little fun doing the backing too.
I bought the panel that goes with this fabric line, and it's going on the back with some of the extra scraps.
I love it!  And I'll share it with you again,
when I have the back completely pieced.

Farm Girl Vintage

I am hustling everyday getting the 48 blocks of this quilt done.

Because I really want to teach it.  At first it can seem a little (a lot) intimidating.  48 is a lot of blocks.  But then you look at Lori Holt's cute quilt and her great book with all of the great layouts and quilting options.  And it makes me think that not only can I do it, but I want to do it!

And sure enough, one by one, they are getting done!

And not only am I getting them done, I'm really enjoying it! I can tell my block size is more accurate.

I'm also enjoying using my stash.  This book really allows you to be so scrappy!  Plus I'm gaining confidence in my fabric choices and abilities as I go along.

My blocks are 6" but the book also show you how to make 12" blocks.  With so many choices that you might want to make more than just one quilt.

Visit Bee in my Bonnet and enjoy her pictures with lots of inspiration.  Many of her pictures look like they could be taken around here in Lincoln, California.

And I'll keep you posted on my future quilting class dates.

Easy Table Runner

I have a friend who just today asked me about this Easy Table Runner.  We have both sewn it so many times that we should remember how to do it.  But sometimes we all need a little refresher!

So here is a link.  It's also called the 10 Minute Table Runner, and it really is!  It takes just a 1/4 yard cut of fabric for the center and 1/2 yard of fabric for the sides and backing fabric (which is just one piece).

Also, you can see from this picture that it can be laid out in two different ways.  Like we all need some variety!  If I see fabric while I'm out shopping that I love and I don't know what to make with it, this is usually my go to.  That or a pillowcase.  They both make great gifts!

Happy sewing!  If you make one and have a picture to share let me know :D
