pick strawberries day

Today is Pick Strawberries Day!

I wish I lived someplace where I could pick my own.  But I do live in California, and that is just the next best thing.

On Mother's Day, Strawberry Shortcake was my dessert request. My own mom did the cake.  She called it a one egg cake, it was like a big biscuit.  And I loved it so much better that if it was a moist cake.  Topped with fresh strawberries and our own whipped cream. Yum!
