vintage empire

I wanted to introduce you to Adrienne of The Vintage Empire, my booth neighbor at the Roseville Antique Market. We have been neighbors for the last three shows. And every time, I come home with a new and unique necklace. Whenever I wear them, I get compliments, and people always ask if it's vintage.



Adrienne is a girl after my own heart and uses vintage elements for her creations. They are made for both the girly girl and the rocker girl. Which I love that they appeal to the diversity of her shoppers.

Adrienne is now also making hats and hair bands. Plus leather cuffs with vintage brooch pins. And you can always find her dyed slips where she adds a bit of extra lace.

The Vintage Empire will also be at the Farm Chicks show this summer! Which is such a huge event. If you go, find Adrienne to say hello. You will come home with a few pieces that you will treasure, season after season.

I know I have been saving these little selvage edges of my fabrics for some reason!

These are pincushions of course! All remnants from my fabric favorites, like Little Menagerie.

little treats

I have been inspired by scrapbooking.

I do not scrap book. I have enough problems storing my fabric.

But I do save and gather bits and pieces of papers and ribbons, and such.

So I gathered them all together and sorted each little piece.

And wrapped them up. Ready for Sunday's sale, just a few dollars. Just for you.

I'm getting ready for an upcoming show in Roseville. So I am busy at my home studio sewing new items each day! Now if only my kids will cooperate.

little pillows

These little pillows are made especially to soothe your eyes and your brain.  They are filled with lavender and organic flaxseed.  So you can relax and rid yourself of that headache or just have a little time out by yourself.



I was inspired by Melly and Me when I learned how to make one of their quilt squares using only scraps.  And that is how these eye pillows came to be.  I have such a good time going through my bags of scraps now and mixing and matching.  It's great color therapy.



 

Aren't all of these colors just delicious.  I never get tired of looking at them.  Silly, I know! 

I hope to post again tomorrow with some other new creations to show you before the Roseville show on Sunday.  But after that it will be a week before you hear from me again.  I am leaving on Monday for Disneyland.  So have a great week!

This one is super colorful with a rainbow of sewn on strips of fabric.



These are all photos of the vintage aprons that I have been collecting.  Some of these I bought just for the fabric.  They never got cut up though.  Probably because these aprons are all in great condition.  So it became a collection without me really knowing it.

I still have about five more aprons that need to be ironed.  Getting ready for my booth this Sunday!  I think they will all look wonderful hanging together.

whose got the button

These are all fabric covered buttons!  Aren't they just the cutest :D  I have been wanting to make these for the longest time.  So on Saturday I finally did.

There is a variety of sizes too.  I think it would be cute to replace just one button on a coat.  Or stitch it onto an otherwise plain bag.  I attached a bit of ribbon too, so they can be used as a gift card for a lucky friend.

antique show

Glitter and Grunge will be participating in this antique show in Roseville.



And I will be there too! Sharing a booth of course.  The following day after the market I will be taking the train with two of my kids and their grandfather to Disneyland.  But that is another story/blog post.



Claire and I went to the first Roseville Antique Market and had a great time.  There were some familiar faces, and some great new ones too.  I bought a brown trasferware plate and a vintage chenille blanket (to cut up).



The quality of vendors is high.  The Tattered House, who sponsors the event, screens all their sellers very well to make sure there is good quality of shopping to be done.  There are some real creative and fun booths.  My favorite had to be one seller who had her little trailer all fixed up inside like a little boutique shop.  Just adorable.



This is a little bit of the swag that I will be handing out at the day of the event.  They are strips of beautiful and colorful vintage linens.  When you come to the Glitter and Grunge booth and make a little purchase, you will get one of these packages, or something else from another G&G vendor.  I hope to see you there!
