instagram

I have finished a fun sewing project that I want to share with you!  This is all from the #verycherryswap on Instagram.

This is the little headband and pincushion that I made.  I love doing English Paper Piecing and making them tinier than usual was fun.  I also filled the pincushion with crushed walnut shells. It gives it a great weight and sharpens your needles too.

This is just the back of the pincushion.  My new favorite fabric, it's from Sweetwater, Mama Said Sew.  See all of the names for quilt blocks!

I also made two placemats. I mostly used fabrics from my LakeHouse, Pam Kitty Morning stash. And did a bit of straight line quilting on my machine. See all the cherries!  This was the fun part too, shopping for all the bits of cherry goodness.

she wished every morning

was a Pam Kitty Morning!  I just met with my fabric rep yesterday and ordered all I could of the the newest Lakehouse Fabrics.

These will be sent to my shop in November, maybe January. Do you think you can wait that long?

Until then, visit Pam and her cute, inspirational blog and see what she is up to.  Usually a bit of sewing, quilting, and a bunch of cuteness.  Did I mention cute...

traditions

Has it really been that long?  Sorry.  You must have been wondering where I've been.  No where really.  Just the holidays, family, relaxing, and forgetting what day of the week it is.

How have you been?  All done with your Christmas sewing, I hope. And ready to sew up something for yourself.  I certainly am!

I am having a great time cutting up these beautiful fabrics from Lakehouse Fabrics.  This is Holly Holderman's latest, Pam Kitty Morning.  It is the softest and has such a sweet, fresh cottage look.

Now it has become my first Block of the Month!  The class will be held on the last Saturday of every month. Beginning Saturday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m.  You will be making just one block, once a month.  Just purchase the pre cut fabric and pattern and the class cost is $10.

Come by my shop or call to sign up {916} 209-3930.

missing houston

I have been to Quilt Market in Houston at least twice before opening my own shop.  This is the first time though that I have really, really, really missed being there!

There is so much inspiration and good will every where you look!  The quilting community is so generous.  And that is what I am missing.  The creative energy and being with my sister Mary (and Judith) just makes it the best little vacation ever.

I can hardly wait to read everyone's blog to catch up on all that's exciting and new!
