sewing day

I was inspired by looking up pictures to inspire you using the Sarah Jane fabrics.  So this is what I have made so far...

A sweet apron, using my all time favorite fabric in this collection.  Not really a practical color for an apron, since I do use it to wipe my hands on while I cook, but super cute none the less.

Two pillowcases behind my mannequin (which I named Bridget).  And a sweet posy pin using my fabric scraps and a vintage button.

And here is the bottom portion of a simple quilt for a baby boy.  I am doing the quilt as you go technique and should finish sewing it this week.  I also have a bit of vintage navy ric rac that I will be sewing on, the perfect touch!  I cut up extras of this fabric as a kit - if you're interested.

teeth, friends, and shopping

Hi! I have been running about today. Feeling a bit frazzled. I was at my daughter's school this morning helping with a craft project. Which always gets a bit loud and crazy. Then later I am taking my three beauties to get their teeth cleaned. Which my boys badly need. Why are they the worst at taking care of their teeth? I hope they out grow this. Please tell me they out grow this!

G&g aprons

Here are two of my cute half aprons, made for the December Glitter & grunge.  The first one is made using a vintage tablecloth.  I have also made a dress, coasters, and a specs case using this same fabric.  It has gotten around!



It has little pockets across the front for cooking utensils or craft supplies.  And it comes with a matching hot pad, made just for play, not intended for real kitchen use.  It is even all trimmed up with some pink ric rac, it's hard to resist!

The second apron is made using a vintage tea towel.  I just fell in love with these retro colors and the graphic nature of the design.  Someone even took the time to crochet the edge in blue.



It too has deep pockets across the front making it perfect to keep your spatula handy and ready to use.  I also made a matching hot pad, made just for pretend play!  The hot pad can be hung from the vintage button at the waist.

may glitter and grunge

I had such a fun month of April making all of my Glitter and Grunge updates.  Now I already have a few new ideas ready for June.  There are a few new artists on the site too.  Have fun looking everything over!  I bet you might even find something perfect for Mother's Day.
