fruit

My boy is 11 year's old now.  He is a crack up! Both my boys are actually (at least I think so).  And a bit of a rag a muffin.  He is going through a scruffy phase of not wanting to cut his hair.  There are worse things.

Today I was in the garden pruning up all my roses for winter.  He came out and asked me if he could make a fruit salad.  I know he loves to eat different foods, but this was a new request.

Apple, pear, grapes, and maraschino cherries (with the cherry juice). And yes, he did make it.  He is good with a knife thanks to boy scouts.  Isn't it just gorgeous!  Much like himself.

finding my balance

My 3 are all back to school now.  I am still wondering how to fill my days!  I used to laugh when people would ask me that. I thought I would sew from sun up til sun down.  At least until 2:30 any way.

It has been 5 days. I am still trying to find my balance.  I wonder what is to become of me?

Then I remember that the thrift shops are open.  I can go to them and shop for the things I love and need.  Not having to worry about what my kids love and want and have to have.

My back seat still feels empty. But now I have room for my junk!

look!

How do you like my new header!  I love it!  Thanks Amy for helping me out and just being the best!

Remember how I took (bribed) my kids to go to the book store?  I forgot that I took some cookie pictures of my kids.  I had to share them with you :)  enjoy!

This photo cracked me up.  I love how the cookie looks as big as her face!  And her big huge eyes.

Brothers dipping their cookies into the whipped creme of the hot chocolate.

Q took this pic of me and my boy (and my book)  as soon as we got home.

Remember to leave a comment to be entered into my book giveaway.  It's still on until Feb. 28th.  Thanks!

bittersweet

the fellas

I just put a boy to bed tonight. Then I went to tuck another one in, when I heard boy #1 crying. He misses Arizona. He had such a good time with his cousins and hanging out with the older fellas.

He has a bit of the meloncholy in him. I think he got it from me, a touch of the Irish. That is what I always considered it whenever I have a moment of this sadness. It is just so touching to see this sensitivity in my boy. That I am able to comfort him makes me so happy to be his momma.

baby teeth

100_3242.jpg

I picked up William today from school. He had lost tooth #3, a top tooth! He was on recess and skipping rope when the handle hit his mouth and knocked the tooth out and it flew through the air. No one could find it. But I did get a cute picture of him. I think kid smiles with missing teeth are so cute. He asks me if he looks silly. I tell him he looks just like a six year old should!

What is so funny about him loosing his teeth, is that I have never seen one of them. The first bottom baby tooth that he lost was during the night. When he woke up it was gone, and no where to be found. And then he said that his throat hurt! Uh-oh!! I called the doctor and they didn't call me back until the next day. So by then I figured out that if he did swallow it, it must be alright, and he probably wasn't the first kid to have done it!

When he lost his second tooth, the exact same thing happened! No kidding. So I started to tell him that if he was hungry in the middle of the night, not to eat his teeth. That he should wake up and get something else to eat!

Crazy kids. They make my life interesting.
